The word “yibuk” means “the north” in Korean.  It is a neutral term used by both North and South Koreans to describe North Korea.

As such, this blog is news, commentaries and opinions about North Korea.

The views expressed in this blog are those of the individual authors themselves and in no way represent the position of (or influence by) any larger organizations, corporations, or governments.

Additionally, our views tend to be moderate, but we always reserve the right to hold liberal and/or conservative viewpoints depending on the specific issues being discussed.

We hold no bias towards views from South Korea, or America and we certainly are not swayed by the views of “the North”.

It is our hope that this website will provide an informative perspective of North Korea that is different, and perhaps a bit more rounded, than a purely news-oriented site.
